As if losing his crew chief wasn't enough, Kurt Busch is now faced with more casualties from his unruly outburst this past weekend. On Sunday, November 20, 2011, Kurt Busch had a violent outburst toward ESPN Reporter Dr. Jerry Punch when asked to do an interview following the race. Busch used very vulgar language towards Punch during the encounter, however, Punch managed to keep his cool the whole time. After the outburst, Busch's crew chief, Steve Addington, stated that he'd had enough. Earlier this week, Addington left his job at Penske Racing and is said to be headed in Stewart-Haas Racing to replace Darian Grubb as Tony Stewart's crew chief for the 2012 season.
However, this was not the end of bad news for Busch. Earlier today, NASCAR fined Busch $50,000 for his vulgar language and an unkindly gesture earlier towards an official during the race. However, even though Busch has done these obscene things, has been fined by NASCAR, and has lost his crew chief, he has still apologized for his actions and harsh words, not only to Dr. Jerry Punch, but also to the fans.
So the question remains, now that Addington is gone, who will be Busch's new crew chief? Or more importantly, will they last long? Only time will tell.

ReplyDeleteI am very sorry you feel this way. However, I would never steal anything from Ashley or The NASCAR Corner. I respect her to much to do so. She is a fantastic writer and her blog is amazing, and nothing can ever change that. I would never think of stealing from anybody. But did you happen to realize that we both write about NASCAR, therefor, similarities are going to happen. And as for being a crappy writer, did you happen to proofread your comment before posting? However, I do take your kind words to heart, and will try to keep my NASCAR blog from seeming like a copy of another NASCAR blog.
ReplyDeleteI think your blog is awsome i belive the idiot that said the rude things to you is just referring to you have the same back ground and set up and Ashley. Which no one cares about that. Everything else he/she is talking about i do not see.. Your and Ashleys post are different and both are fabulous! I wish you the best of luck and that your blog succeeds... Dont let the haters stop you from doing what you love doing. Also you are most difiantly NOT a crappy writer you are a brilliant writer! Keep up the good work and i promise that i will keep reading! I've been very busy at school and my computer has been down, and just as things settled down and my computer was fixed and I was going to start writing again, I got a reporting job for a newspaper. However, I should have a new article up this weekend, and also one about my absence.
